DESCRIPTION:Are you a researcher who writes code? An intimidated grad stud
 ent who's scrambling to learn R or Python? Or maybe a software developer w
 ho works with researchers? Whether you're just starting out or have been d
 oing this for decades\, this workshop is for you. Let's come together to s
 hare our experiences – the horror stories\, a-ha moments and imposter-sy
 ndrome-induced doubts – with writing\, documenting\, publishing\, and re
 using research code.\n\nModern research often depends on patchworks of cus
 tom code\, organically grown over the lifespan of a project. Scripts writt
 en on the fly\, evolving as questions change and deadlines loom. Many\, if
  not most\, of us never received any formal training to write code that ot
 hers (or even just our future self) could actually understand and use. Ins
 tead\, we learn by trial and error – and\, most importantly\, from each 
 other.\n\nTake this workshop as an opportunity to share what you know\, he
 lp out others and learn a few new tricks. Together\, we'll:\n- Define what
  "computational reproducibility" means to us\n- Discuss our experiences pr
 oducing and reusing research code\n- Reflect on how the daily work of rese
 archers has changed and what constraints we face\n- Share what strategies 
 and tools have worked for us in the past\n\nThe goal is to develop a set o
 f community guidelines or best practices for working with research code th
 at are applicable and accessible across disciplines and backgrounds.\n\n--
 -\n\nNote:\n- This workshop aims to center perspectives from marginalized 
 folks whose voices frequently go unheard in academia. If that includes you
 \, your participation is especially valued.\n- This session can also be he

DESCRIPTION:Passend zum „Cycle“ im Kongresstitel zeige ich in diesem k
 leinen Workshop\, wie aus alten Fahrradketten Fidgettoys gebastelt werden 
 können. Im Vorfeld zeige ich einige verschiedene Varianten\, die auch aus
 probiert werden können\, und dann geht es auch schon los. Geplant ist\, d
 ass jede Teilnehmer*in mit ein bis zwei Fidgettoys aus dem kurzen Workshop
  geht. Zusätzlich zu den Fahrradketten kommen Schlüsselringe und Schrump
 fschlauch zum Einsatz\, aber nicht bei allen Varianten.\n\nDa es sich wirk
 lich um alte Fahrradketten handelt\, die ich zwar etwas vorreinige\, macht
  es dennoch die Hände schmierig und dreckig. Es wird aber Babyfeuchttüch
 er geben und einen Pott Handwaschcreme\, der für solche Zwecke gut funkti
 oniert\, damit nachher alle wieder saubere Hände haben.\n\nDieser Worksho
 p ist für alle ab 16. Ich werde im Vorfeld Listen zum Eintragen aufhänge
 n. Geplant sind zwei kürzere Workshop-Slots zu je 30 Minuten in Gruppen v
 on sechs bis acht Personen.
